In addition to the above, the entire possessions of 199 families (110 van loads) removing from clearance areas were
taken to the Disinfecting Station for treatment as a precaution against the importation of vermin to the Council's new flats.
Six hundred and ninety-nine beds and 6,097 other articles were treated in the steam disinfector and the remaining articles
were fumigated in the hydrogen cyanide chamber.
