MEAT AND OTHER FOODS.
London County Council (General Powers) Act, 1932.—This Act
requires the registration with the local authority of all premises
used for:—
(a) the sale, manufacture or storage of ice cream;
(b) the preparation or manufacture of sausages or potted,
pressed, pickled or preserved meat, fish or other food
intended for sale.
The following table shows the additions to and deletions from the register of food premises during the year:—

Fifteen samples of ice cream were submitted to bacteriological
examination during the year, and in no case did the result indicate
the necessity for action by the Public Health Department.
Public Health (Meat) Regulations, 1924.—These Regulations
require that notice shall be given to the Council by any person who
intends to slaughter any animal. Thus the Council's Food
Inspectors are enabled to be in attendance at the slaughtering of all
animals in the Borough and to examine the carcases.
Six hundred and thirty-two visits were made to slaughterhouses,
when the carcases of 4,171 sheep and lambs, 793 pigs, 39
calves, and 124 oxen were examined. The following were found to
be diseased and were destroyed:—
