Smallpox.—There were 34 notifications of smallpox in the
Borough during 1932, and several cases of smallpox in other
Boroughs were related to Hackney in that their movements in the
Borough required action by the Public Health Department.
The number of contacts under supervision during the year 1932
was 1,007. Dr. Barlow's services in visiting suspected cases was
of the greatest value to the Department, as in previous years.
The cases of this disease notified in the Borough in the past six years were as follow:—

All the cases notified during the year were, of course, removed
to hospital.
