Cerebrospinal Meningitis.—During 1932 there were 6 cases
of this disease notified in the Borough; all the cases were removed
to hospital. Two deaths from this disease occurred during the year.
Polio-myelitis.—Two cases of polio-myelitis were notified in
the Borough during 1932. Both were still under treatment at the
end of the year.

Ophthalmia Neonatorum.—During the year there were :—

Encephalitis Lethargica.—Five cases of this disease were
notified during the year, two of which were removed to hospital
for treatment.
Two of the patients notified during 1932 died during the year,
whilst there also occurred during the period under review 3 deaths
from this disease of persons who were first attacked by the complaint
in 1924.
Influenzal Pneumonia and Pneumonia.—There were 29 cases
of influenzal pneumonia and 147 of primary pneumonia notified.
A.s provided in the Regulations, where the nursing was found to
be inadequate a nurse was sent from the Hackney District Nursing
Association, in accordance with an arrangement made with the
Superintendent at a fee of Is. 3d. per visit. During the year
33 cases, including cases of pneumonia and broncho-pneumonia,
were nursed and 775 visits were paid to those cases. Influenza,
unless complicated by pneumonia, is not notifiable.
Malaria.—Two cases of this disease were notified during the
year. Both patients were ex-soldiers, who had contracted the
disease abroad during their war service.
Dysentery.—No case of this disease was notified during the
year.
NON-NOTIFIABLE DISEASES.
Measles.—This disease is not notifiable by Medical Practitioners
in the Borough, but it is possible to give comparative figures
relating to its incidence, since voluntary notification of cases has
been arranged with the School Medical Service. The following
