*In addition to the patients who received residential treatment under the County Council's tuberculosis scheme upon the recommendation of the Tuberculosis Officers, Inpatients were sent to hospital or sanatorium by the County Council upon applications by medical officers of hospitals.

Eighty-nine deaths from pulmonary tuberculosis of persons
who had attended at one of the Tuberculosis Dispensaries occurred
during the year.

The following table shows the various stages which the disease had reached before these patients attended a Tuberculosis Dispensary:—
