Milk and Dairies Order, 1926.
The Public Health Committee considered the situation arising
from the fact that many persons, amounting in all to 54, had been
registered as Purveyors of Milk prior to 27th April, 1922, when it
was resolved that applicants for registration as purveyors of milk
should be required to give an undertaking to comply with certain
conditions. It being necessary under the new Order to register
the premises as well as the purveyors of milk and that application
had been made by the 54 purveyors referred to for registration,
but as these persons were selling "prohibited articles" in addition
to milk, the Committee decided that all applications for
registration of premises be refused until the conditions laid down
on the 27th April, 1922, had been complied with.
A list of purveyors who had agreed to discontinue the sale of
prohibited articles was afterwards submitted to the Committee,
and 15 applications for registration were granted. 64 names of
vendors were removed from the register, 14 having discontinued
the sale of milk entirely, and 50 having ceased the sale of loose
milk and only sold milk in sealed bottles. In one case the vendor
