Cleansing of Persons Act, 1897.
The baths provided by the Borough Council under the above
Act, for the cleansing of verminous persons, were in constant use.
The total number of baths given during the year was 4,569 (200
to adults and 4,369 to children). This total shows an increase
of 508 upon the number given during 1924.
Of the 4,569 baths given, 1,107 were sulphur baths for
scabies, and 3,462 for pediculi. The great majority of those
persons presenting themselves for baths were children from the
elementary schools in the Borough. The children received 4,369
