Information was received from the head masters and head
mistresses of elementary schools in Hackney of 816 cases of
whooping cough occurring among their scholars during the year.
CONSTITUTIONAL DISEASES.
For Table of Deaths see pages 152 to 159.
Cancer.—There were 301 deaths during 1925 due to the
different varieties of malignant disease. This is a decrease of
9 on the number registered during 1924. The annual mortality
rate from malignant disease for last year is therefore 1.31 per
1,000 inhabitants.
The following table gives the distribution of the deaths from this disease in the different sub-districts of the Borough:—
