There were two deaths from enteric fever in the Borough last
year.
During the year 19 specimens of blood from persons suspected
to be suffering from enteric fever were submitted to Widal's
test. All gave a negative reaction.
Continued Fever.—There were no notifications of continued
fever in the Borough during the year.
Typhus Fever.—There was not any notification of typhus
fever in the Borough during the year.
Puerperal Fever.—There were 13 cases of puerperal fever
notified during 1925; all the cases were removed to hospital. The
deaths from puerperal fever and septicaemia numbered 3. The
attack-rate for the year was 3T per 1,000 births, and the deathrate
0.7 per 1,000 births.
Plague.—There were no notifications of plague in the Borough
during the year.
Cholera.—There were no notifications of Cholera in the
Borough during the year.
Erysipelas.—There were 58 cases of Erysipelas notified during
1925. This is equal to an attack-rate of 0.25 per 1,000 inhabitants,
compared with 0.39 for England and Wales. Of the
58 cases notified, 25 were removed to hospital.
There were 6 deaths certified to be due to erysipelas.
