Condemned meat and food is destroyed at the Dust Destructor
(for details see Food Inspector's Report).
Public Health (Meat) Regulations, 1924.—An Inspector now
devotes the whole of his time to the supervision of Butchers' shops,
Provision shops with open fronts, and the market street stalls,
hawke,rs, etc. (For particulars of inspection see Inspector's
report).
Public Slaughterhouses.—There are no public slaughterhouses
in the Borough.
Private Slaughterhouses.—
In 1920. In January, 1925. In December, 1925.

Unsound Food and Food Inspection.—The food exposed for
sale or prepared for sale in the Borough is kept under observation
by two Sanitary Inspectors, who visit the Slaughterhouses,
Butchers' Shops, Street Market thoroughfares, etc., and generally
by the District Inspectors when visiting food premises.
3,794 visits were paid during the year to places where food
was prepared or sold. 244 notices were served for defects on
these prernises.
