Senile Mortality.— The deaths which occurred in Hackney
at 65 years of age and upwards during 1924 numbered 1,009
and of these 509 were between the ages of 65 and 75 years, 388
between 75 and 85 years, and 112 at 85 years and upwards. The
annual mortality rate of persons at 65 years and upwards is 4-4
per 1,000 inhabitants.
Deaths in Public Institutions.— There were 1,608 deaths in
public institutions in the Borough during 1924; of these 680
were residents of other districts, and the remaining 928 were
residents of Hackney.
The following lists give the names of the institutions within
the Borough receiving persons from both within and without
the Borough, and also the institutions outside the Borough,
receiving sick and infirm persons from the Borough, with the
number of deaths in each institution during the year 1924:—
