Deaths.— The deaths registered in the Borough during 1924
numbered 2,844; but of these 680 were deaths of non-residents
who died inside the Borough. There were, however, 424 residents
of Hackney who died during the year outside the Borough.
On making the necessary corrections, the corrected number of
deaths amongst Hackney residents is 2,588. This is an increase
of 182 upon the number of deaths occurring during 1923. The
general death-rate from all causes for the year 1924 is 11.4 per
1,000 of the population.

Amongst the Registration Sub-districts the death-rate was lowest in the North Sub-district (112 per l,000) the highest in the Central and South-east Sub-districts (ll.5 per 1,000).
