CANAL BOATS ACTS, 1877-1894.
The Canal Boats Inspector reports that he made 85 visits to
the waterways in the Borough during 1912, and inspected 30 boats
during that period. No infringements of the Canal Boats Acts or
Regulations were observed on these visits. A copy of the Inspector s
report will be found in the appendix to this report.
ICE CREAM VENDORS.
At the end of 1912 there were 190 ice cream vendors in the
Borough, an increase of 15 on the number present at the end of
1911. These were all inspected during the past year. Sanitary
defects were found on 31 of these premises which were remedied
on the service of intimation notices.
GLANDERS AND FARCY ORDER, 1907.
During the past year I received 4 notifications of glanders
in animals, in the Borough, from the Veterinary Inspectors of the
London County Council. In each case I had the premises inspected
and made enquiries respecting the health of the stable men, &c.,
but in no instance did it appear that the diseases had been conveyed
to man.
DISEASES OF ANIMALS ACTS—ANTHRAX ORDER OF 1910.
During 19121 received 1 notification of the existence of anthrax
on premises in the Borough. Similar steps were taken as in the
case of glanders above described.
HOUSING OF THE WORKING CLASSES ACTS, 1890-1903.
No representation was made nor action taken under the above
Acts during the year 1912.
HOUSING, TOWN PLANNING, ETC., ACT, 1909.
In the month of February, 1912, I represented to the Public
Health Committee, under Section 17 of the above Act, the following
premises, viz., Nos. 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62 and 64, Middlesex
Wharf, Lea Bridge, to be in a state so dangerous or injurious to
health as to be unfit for human occupation.
