In this and the following table are shown the number of
births and deaths registered in the Sub.Districts of IIackney
and Stoke Newington; the preceding tables having been
compiled to show the sanitary condition of the District as a
whole. Table XI. shows that there were registered during the
first quarter 1,762 births, in the second 1,572, in the third
1,589, and in the fourth 1,662, making a total of 6,585 births
in the year. Of these, 816 were registered in Stoke Newington,
424 in Stamford Hill, 1,177 in West Hackney, 2,811 in
Hackney, and 1,357 in South Hackney. The percentages are
12 4 for Stoke Newington, 64 for Stamford Hill, 17.9 for
West Hackney, 42m7 for Hackney, and 20.6 for South Hackney
Sub.Districts. These show a slight excess for Stoke Newington
