was in March, when the very low mean of 32.7 deg. occurred,
so that taking the average of the lowest for each night it was
only 0.7 above freezing point. The largest rainfall happened
in September and the lowest in August. The second largest
occurred in February, so that if the weather had been cold, there
would have been an unusually large quantity of snow. The
heaviest rainfall in any one day was 0.70 inch, which occurred
in September. The total rainfall at 7.ft. 6.in. above ground.
line was 2085 inches.
In conclusion, I have to express my satisfaction at the
manner in which the whole of the Sanitary Staff have carried
out their duties, which have been unusually onerous, during the
present year.
