in 1882. I have not attempted to calculate the death.rate for
each of these Sub.Districts, as the deaths in the Workhouse and
the Small.pox and Fever Hospitals are registered in the Hackney
District, and the varying number of population in the different
Sub.Districts is so great, owing to new buildings being constructed
in some and not in others, that no satisfactory results
would be arrived at. The Collectors' divisions and the Wards
of the Parish of Hackney do not agree with the Sub.registration
Districts, and no check, therefore, in the calculations can be
obtained from the rate books.
