* NOTE.—The Deaths are corrected by adding on the Deaths of Inhabitants in the Small.pox
and Fever Hospitals, in tho German Hospital, which are situate in the Hackney District, and also
the Deaths in other Metropolitan Hospitals ontside the Diatrict.
For the first time I am enabled to present an accurate
return of the number and causes of deaths of Parishioners
belonging to this District. Hitherto I have added on all the
Deaths in the German Hospital and other Public Institutions
in the District, including, also, all the drowning cases, which
(as we have the River Lea and the Regent's Canal within
our boundaries) I considered to be a fair compensation for
the deaths of Parishioners in public institutions outside our
limits. In consequence, however, of the arrangement made
with a gentlemen at Somerset House, with the consent of
the Registrar.General, I have obtained the names, addresses,
ages and causes of deaths of all those who have died during the
year in the Metropolitan Hospitals, and find that I have slightly
over.compensated for these deaths. As, however, they will not
