These schedules being accepted by the Board, have been forwarded
to the Gas and Water Companies as the prices to be charged to
them in future; but the Companies have not yet decided on
their course of action in this matter.
25. The London County Council having decided to pay the
increased charge for repairs to the Highway over Eltham Green
Bridge, as from the 25th March, 1897, representations were
made to them that as the roadway had been repaired last year
at the increased cost of £67 2s. 1d., so the increased amount
should be paid for that year, which has now been done.
26. The narrow foot planks across the ditch in Eltham Road,
the River Quaggy in the line of the footpath from Mottingham
Road, to West Chislehurst Park, and across the ditch in line of
King John's Walk, have been improved, widened, and strong
hand-rails fixed for the protection of the public. The cost
being £16 L3s. 5d.
27. Numerous applications for road breaking, etc., have been
received during the year. These have been repaired by your
own men, with the exception of the Gas Company's trenches,

who repair their own work. Amounts are as follows:—
