* These tongues were from Patagonia.

The above consignments represent only a proportion of the tongues which arrived.
The remainder were allowed to leave the district of the Port of London Sanitary
Authority (without inspection) for removal to Cold Stores within the City of London,
and the Metropolitan Boroughs of Bermondsey and Finsbury, to be examined there
under the supervision of the Medical Officers of Health of those districts.
Actinomycosis in ox-tongues was also found in two consignments which arrived
from Australia.
In a consignment of 144 tongues examined, 1 tongue was found affected, and in
another consignment of 207 tongues, 13 (— 6'28 per cent.) were found affected.
