of by your Board, as much refuse fruit and vegetables
are collected in Covent Garden Market in the special
carts provided for the purpose.
The Acts relating to the sale of food and drugs have
been systematically enforced throughout the District
as in former years, under the supervision of your
Health Committee, and from the report of your Board's
Analyst it will be seen that a varied number of articles
have been examined by him.
During the past year the Board thought it desirable
that the Medical Officer should undertake a greater measure
of responsibility in regard to the work of the Health
Department, and I cannot conclude this Report without
expressing my sincere thanks for the handsome manner
by which the Board marked its sense of appreciation of
my services; and I have to thank the members of the
staff for their assistance in carrying on the work of the
Department.
