Ungraded Milk. Of the 6 samples examined during the year,
all contained fewer than 200,000 bacteria per millilitre, and in all the
samples coliform bacillus was absent in 0.01 millilitre. Where a milk
falls below this standard, it is assumed that the sample has not
attained the standard of bacterial cleanliness which could reasonably
be expected, and appropriate action is taken in all such cases to secure
an improvement in the bacteriological condition of the milk.
