SANITARY CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE AREA.
WATER SUPPLIES.
During the year 282 samples of water were submitted for
bacteriological examination in the Council's laboratory.
Samples were taken as follows: —
Main Water Supply (Sutton Well and Woodmansterne
Well) (An average per month of 14
samples) 168
Private wells 82
Swimming Bath 32
The main water supply continues to be satisfactory both in
quantity and in purity.
No cases of illness associated with pollution of the water supplies
have been recorded during the year. The chlorination of water from
private manufacturing wells was continued throughout the year and
examination in the Council's laboratory showed that the standard of
purity was high.
