MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE CENTRES.
The five Infant Welfare Centres have been held fortnightly on
the same days as in previous years.
As foreshadowed in last year's report, the numbers of patients
attending the Centres has shown, a marked decline in 1940.
Voluntary evacuation proceeded at a fairly rapid rate from
September, 1939 onwards, and although the percentage of children
living in the area attending' the clinics was maintained at 73%, the
child population was so reduced as to reflect a considerable fall in
total attendances.
