During the year 246 expectant mothers attended the Clinic as
compared with 276 in 1939. This represents approximately 79 per cent.
of the total notified births (live and still) which occurred in the
Borough during 1940. The figures for 1939 are shown in the table for
comparison purposes.

POST-NATAL CLINIC.
Post-natal cases are seen as they present themselves at the antenatal
clinic and it is estimated that about 48 per cent, of the cases
seen at the ante-natal sessions return for post-natal examinations
after their confinements.
Dr. Winifred Small continues to act as Ante-natal Medical Officer
and her services have been greatly appreciated.
