CONSULTANT ANTE-NATAL AND POST-NATAL CLINIC.
The first Consultant Clinic was held on the 20th January, 1939,
and was continued throughout the year on the third Friday in each
month by Mr. Douglas Lindsay, M.D., Ch.B., F.R.F.P.S. (G.), M.C.O.G.
The attendances were as follows: —

MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE CENTRES.
The five Infant Welfare Centres have been held fortnightly on
the same days as in previous years.
For the nine months previous to the outbreak of War, all centres
showed an increase in attendances, since September, however, there
has been a decline.
This is, of course, accounted for by voluntary evacuation of
mothers and children as well as restrictions in the movements of
those families who have remained.
A more marked decline will unfortunately be recorded during
1940.
The following table shows the attendances for 1939 at the five
Centres maintained by the Council:—
