During the year 276 expectant mothers attended the Clinic, as
compared with 237 in 1938. This represents approximately 61 per cent,
of the total notified births (live and still) which occurred in the
Borough during 1939. The figures for 1938 are shown in the table for
comparison purposes.
POST-NATAL CLINIC.
Post-natal cases are seen as they present themselves at the antenatal
clinic and it is estimated that about 38 per cent, of the cases
seen at the ante-natal sessions return for post-natal examinations
after their confinement.
Dr. Winifred Small continues to act as Ante-natal Medical Officer
and her services have been greatly appreciated.
