The liquid insecticides used during the year were "Zaldecide" and
"Vermoose."
No occasion arose during the year for the fumigation and treatment
of furniture or bedding, but a steam disinfecting plant is available
for the treatment of bedding and clothing, if required.
As a matter of routine, all vacated Council houses are inspected,
and disinfestation, if necessary, is carried out before re-occupation of
the premises.
Where possible, the homes of prospective tenants of Council houses
are visited so that action can be taken, if necessary, to ensure that no
infested articles are moved into houses free from vermin.
SCHOOLS.
School Closure. On no occasion during the year was a School
closed by the Local Sanitary Authority on account of the prevalence of
Infectious Disease amongst the scholars.
As in the case of the Public Elementary Schools, notice is given to
the Head Teachers of all private schools in the event of the pupils
suffering from, or having been in contact with, Infectious Disease.
The advice of the Medical Officer of Health as to further action is
available should this be requested, and disinfection is provided when
required.
Medical Inspection. The medical inspection of the Public
Elementary School children is carried out by the Education Department
of the Surrey County Council.
Water Supply and Sanitary Condition. All the Public Elementary
Schools in the district have been inspected from time to time. They
are all supplied with water from the public mains and connected with
the sewers.
REGULATED TRADES: DAIRIES.
There are 8 registered premises within the district, this being 2
less than last year. One cowkeeper remained on the register during
the year.
During the year 27 visits of inspection were paid, and conditions
found to be satisfactory.
