population.
Deaths. The Registrar-General gives the number of deaths registered
as 260, of which 127 were males and 133 were females.
Taking the estimated population figure of 30,880, the crude death
rate for 1938 is 8.42 per thousand, compared with 10.0 for 1937. The
corresponding figures for England and Wales for 1938 and 1937 are 11.6
and 12.4 respectively.
The corrected death rate, i.e., the rate which would be arrived at
if the age and sex constitution of the population of Beddington and
Wallington was in the same proportion as the country as a whole, is
8.25.
The Registrar-General's comparability factor for the adjustment
of the death rate of Beddington and Wallington is 0.98.
