CHILD LIFE PROTECTION.
The Senior Health Visitor is the authorised Child Life Protection
Visitor for the Borough.
She reports:—
Number of persons who were receiving children for reward
at the end of the year 5
Number of children on the register at the end of the year 14
Number of children who died during the year Nil
During the year 51 visits were paid to the homes of the children.
No proceedings were taken under the Act during the year.
SANITARY CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE AREA.
WATER SUPPLY.
During the year 15 samples of water from the main district supply
(Sutton District Water Company) were submitted for analyses.

In no case was the legal standard of hardness exceeded and the
samples, taken as a whole, conformed to the accepted standards of a
pure and wholesome water supply.
Several private wells are in use in the district and have been the
subject of investigation by the Medical Officer of Health from time to
time during the current year.
It was found necessary to discontinue the use of two private wells
situated in the Borough. The premises involved have been using the
public water supply following this action.
