During the year I have been greatly assisted in my work by my colleagues,
the clerks, and the surveyor. I desire to thank them for their co-operation
and help. With respect to my own staff, 1 cannot speak too highly of the
manner in which their work has been performed. It is only necessary to call
attention to Tables O* and P† of the Appendix to show the enormous amount
of good which must result from the continuous, steady, and patient manner
in which they carry out their arduous duties.
I have the honour to be,
Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
JOSEPH LOANE.
