A Mortuary required for this District.
The question of erecting a Mortuary has been on more than one
occasion discussed by your Board, and I have no doubt that one would
long ago have been erected had the Board possessed the power of obtaining
land compulsorily for that purpose.
If the Board determine to erect a Mortuary, I would recommend
that it should be built not only with architectural taste, but that it should
possess conveniences for making post-mortem examinations, and for the holding
of inquests, which are now, for the most part, held at public houses.
