siderable experience which is relevant and valuable to the
work in this small assessment unit.
Mrs. Bowman, who is qualified to teach maladjusted children
and who pioneered our Observation Group and gave 3 years of
service in establishing and developing this new field, left the
Observation Unit in September in order to re-open our daymaladjusted
class. It is planned in 1966 to move the Observation
Group to another building at Manford Way so that expansion will
be possible in both the observation unit and the maladjusted
class. At the moment one building is shared by the two units.
The proposed move is enabling us to proceed with plans for a
second Observation class and a unit for autistic children
adjoining the Observation Classes. There will be room also for
3 maladjusted classes in the building they are in at present,
once the Observation group has moved.
We are awaiting these developments with great enthusiasm
and have been closely concerned in the administrative aspects
of these plans all along."
