Milk Bottles. Numerous complaints were received concerning the
external condition of milk bottles delivered by a dairy company.
Representations were made by the Council and members and officials of
the Council visited the processing and bottling depot to see for
themselves the conditions under which bottles were filled. The
defective bottles were discarded and preventive measures taken to prevent
a recurrence of this complaint.
Dirty Milk Bottles. On two occasions a dairy company was fined for
selling in this district a dirty bottle of milk which had been filled at
a London depot. Fines of £5 with 2 gns. costs and £30 with 2 gns. costs
were imposed.
