Conclusion.
And now I take my final leave, regretfully perhaps after
such a long time (46 years) spent in the public health service.
Nevertheless it is not entirely devoid of some feeling of pleasure.
That my work has earned the approbation of the Council has been
demonstrated by the presentation to me, by the Mayor at my last
Council meeting, of a testimonial couched in felicitous terms and
bearing the seal of the Corporation. This and other kind messages
in reference to my retirement received from citizens of this
Borough, has given me infinite satisfaction and makes the ending
of my career less of an ordeal than might have been expected.
I am,
Mr. Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors,
Your obedient servant,
HENRY TUNBRIDGE,
Sanitary Inspector.
