DEATHS.
During the year 352 deaths were registered, an increase of
26 over those recorded in 1944. The death rate per 1,000
population was 9.2 compared with an average of 11.4 for
England and Wales. There was no single outstanding cause of
death calling for comment. The infantile mortality rate was
40.8 per 1,000 live births. No deaths occurred from maternal
causes.
