INFECTIOUS DISEASES.

The following number of rooms were disinfected for the under-mentioned causes:—

Two Public Elementary Schools were disinfected
throughout during the year.
One hundred and thirty-seven books from the Public
Library and Schools were disinfected for various reasons.
Thirty-seven loads of bedding were removed for steam
disinfection and four for destruction.
In addition to the above, 178 blankets, 69 mattresses,
39 cushions and pillows from various posts and shelters
have been disinfected or disinfested.
WATER SUPPLY.
The drinking water for the district is supplied by
the Metropolitan Water Board and consists of Thames
derived stored water, filtered and terminally chlorinated.
FOOD AND DRUGS ACT, 1938.
During the year 121 samples were submitted to the
Public Analyst for analysis. These comprised the
