Improvements were carried out to the sanitary conveniences
of certain elementary schools during the year,
more particularly at the Maiden Parochial and New
Maiden East Council schools. At the former the conveniences
were reconstructed and improved in addition to
which improvements were carried out to the class rooms,
cloakrooms, etc.
It is hoped that improvements will be carried out
during the year at the Lime Grove and Kingston Vale
schools where the accommodation falls below modernday
standards.
In conclusion may I express my thanks to the Council,
especially the Chairman and Members of the Public Health
Committee for their support and interest taken in the
work of the Department.
The co-operation and help given at all times by the
Medical Officer of Health, other officers of the Corporation
and the loyal support of the staff of the Department is also
gratefully acknowledged.
I am,
Mr. Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors,
Your obedient Servant,
HENRY TUNBRIDGE,
Sanitary Inspector.
