HOSPITAL ACCOMMO DATION.
The Teddington and Hampton Wiek Cottage Hospital
is situated just, off Broad Street.
The accommodation consists of 24 beds. The best
possible use is made of this building, but it is very cramped
and out of date. A good site has been acquired in Hampton
Road for a new building, and £11,100 has already been
collected towards it. Those connected with the scheme
have great hopes of commencing at an early date.
There is a large private institution for mental deficients
and several small private nursing homes.
PUBLIC CONVENIENCES.
A building is in course of construction by the railway
bridge, which will give accommodation for men and women.
The men's side will contain urinal, two w.c.s., two wash
basins with hot-water supply, and attendant's room. The
women's side will contain three w.c.s., two wash basins
with hot-water supply, and attendant's room. This will
supply a long felt need. Two more public conveniences are
still needed in the district—one near Bushy Park Gates,
to which I have already referred, and one by the river.
Although these are not so much needed all the year round,
there is a very great need for both of them during the
summer months when Teddington has so many daily visitors.
