The Registrar-General's statistics relating to population, births and
deaths differ slightly from those compiled from local records. The total
figures in respect of the district as a whole, which are supplied by the
Registrar-General, are set out in this report, but where classification has
been made, e.g., by age groups, sex, wards, etc., it has necessarily been
based on our own records, which may, in the aggregate, show slight
discrepancies compared with the Registrar-General's totals.
