Meningococcal Infection
A baby of sixteen months contracted meningococcal meningitis. It
made a complete recovery after treatment in isolation hospital with antibiotics
and chemotherapy.
Poliomyelitis

The incidence of poliomyelitis was the highest since the major epidemic of 1947. Twelve cases were notified of which nine were paralytic. Details were as follows :
