Milk (Control and Maximum Prices) (Great Britain) Order, 1947
The Department co-operates with the Ministry of Food in the
administration of this order. Three samples of South Devon milk
which failed to comply with the special standard of 4% fat, which
entitles such milk to be sold at a higher price than ordinary milk, were
reported to the Ministry. The three samples were deficient in fat to
the extent of 2%, 4% and 4% respectively. Proceedings were taken
by the Ministry of Food in the first two cases and in each the vendor
was fined 5 guineas with 3 guineas costs.
Section 9—Sale of Food Unfit for Human Consumption.
