Only two of the samples were found to be adulterated or otherwise
irregular.
Ice Cream.
This sample showed a deficiency of 33% in the milk solids other
than fat. In view of the explanation given by the manufacturer the
Committee authorised a strong warning to be given.
Meat.
This proved to be horse flesh. The vendor was convicted under
Section 38 of the Food and Drugs Act and fined £10, with £3/17/0 costs.
