Carshalton 1950

Sonne infection in an adult male, the other a Flexner infection, the
patient being infected en route to this country from Australia, probably
in Rome. There were no deaths.
Scarlet Fever.
The incidence of scarlet fever rose by approximately 50% from
the year before and the number of cases notified was 151, of which
130 were residents of the district. The incidence rates were:—
All cases 2.42 per 1,000 population
Residents 2.18 per 1,000 population
All were mild cases and there were no deaths. Forty-six, representing
30% of the total were nursed at home.
