Whooping Cough.
The incidence of pertussis was two-thirds that of the year before,
225 cases (211 residents) being notified compared with 365. Incidence
was rather heavier in the first six months of the year during which
period 80% of the cases occurred. There was one death in a child
of 2 years.

Cerebro-Spinal Fever.
There were no cases of meningo-coccal meningitis. One case was
notified in a patient from a neighbouring district admitted to St. Helier
Hospital with the disease.
Anterior Poliomyelitis and Encephalitis.
Three cases of this infection were notified, 2 of which were poliomyelitis
and 1 polio-encephalitis.
