Where possible, the practice of treating all members of affected
families is followed.
Premises.
During the year, four lots of verminous bedding were stoved and
two lots were destroyed.
Ninety-two premises were treated for the destruction of vermin
and insect pests as follows:—

Smoke Abatement.
Six complaints were received and dealt with during the year.
Rats and Mice (Destruction) Act, 1919.
Under the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries
rodent destruction was carried out during the year.
Five thousand seven hundred and twenty-nine visits were made
and 343 rat and mouse infestations found. Of that number 303 were
found in private premises, 25 in business premises and 15 in Council
premises.
