Two Dairymen, who had applied for the renewal of Special Designated
milk licences were summoned to appear before the Public
Health Committee, under Section 9 of the Milk (Special Designations)
Order, 1936, in respect of a number of samples which had not been
satisfactory. The Committee gave very careful consideration to the
representation made and decided not to revoke or suspend any of the
existing licences and to renew such licences. At the same time the
Committee gave instructions for a severe warning letter to be sent to
both the firms stating that further failures would be regarded as a
serious breach of the conditions of the licence. The Committee also
agreed to make representations as to the delay in transport of bottled
milk to the Milk Marketing Board, Ministry of Food, and the Ministry
of Health.
The sampling of Ice Cream was carried on and the following table gives the results:-
