General and Maternity.—The Carshalton, Beddington and
Wallington District (War Memorial) Hospital, The Park,
Carshalton.
This voluntary hospital provides 60 beds, arranged as follows:—

Maternity beds 2
Emergency beds 6
Private wards (of one bed) 14

The hospital is equipped with an X-Ray Department, and has a
separate wing for orthopœdic treatment, including massage,
electrical treatment, radiant heat, ultra-violet ray, and remedial
exercises.
The hospital report for 1937 shows that the following cases
were admitted:—

The Council contributes annually to the hospital and has an
arrangement for the treatment of maternity cases and children
referred from the public welfare services.
