Section B—Health Services.
Nursing in the Home.—The District is served by two Nursing
Associations, to whose funds the Council makes an annual contribution
in return for nursing facilities for cases referred through
the Public Services.
The Carshalton District Nursing Association covers the greater
part of the Urban District. Six nurses, 4 of whom act as midwives,
are employed. The following information in respect of the
working of this Association during 1937 has been kindly supplied
by the Honorary Secretary:—

Number of midwives' cases undertaken 92
Number of other cases attended 656
Total Cases 967
Number of visits made 14,574
The St. Helier District Nursing Association operates mostly
in the Merton and Morden section of the St. Helier Estate, but
its activities cover that part situated in Carshalton which lies to
the north of the Sutton By-Pass. One nurse is employed for
general nursing. No midwifery is undertaken. The following
figures, relating to the Carshalton portion of the Estate, for 1937
have been kindly supplied by the Honorary Secretary:—
