Mitcham, Beddington and Wallington Care Committee for
Tuberculosis and Diseases of the Chest
During the year the Committee continued to help patients and,
where necessary, their families.
Assistance is given towards extra nourishment, beds and bedding,
occupational therapy, education, clothing, provision of wireless and
television and payment of licence fees, holidays, fares for relatives to
visit, pocket money for patients, removal expenses, internal decorations,
hire purchase arrears, insurance, etc., etc. The fund necessary
for this work is mostly raised through the efforts of the voluntary
committee.
The help given improves the morale of the patient and/or his
family.
The proportion of T.B. cases dealt with continues to diminish
each year.
