Barber Service
This has proved another very useful service, and during the year the barber
attended 105 old people in their own homes, at the cost of one shilling each.
Disposable Bed Pads
The Borough of Tottenham Aid in Sickness Fund has made it possible to obtain a
supply of disposable pads and plastic sheets to be given whereseriously ill incontinent
patients are being cared for by relatives. It is hoped that it may be possible to
obtain a further supply of these as they have proved invaluable.
GENERAL
Health Services provided by other Authorities
(a) Hospital:- North-East Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board.
The hospitals in the Borough are locally administered by the Tottenham Group
Hospital Management Committee whose offices are at the Prince of Wales's General
Hospital.
The Group comprises the undermentioned hospitals and clinic.
(1) Bearstead Memorial Maternity Hospital with Annexe at
Hampton Court
(2) St. Ann's General Hospital
(3) Prince of Wales's General Hospital with Annexe at
Nazeing (Princess Louise Convalescent Home)
(4) Tottenham Chest Clinic
Out-patient clinics provided at the Prince of Wales's General Hospital areset out
on the following page.
The Government's Ten-Year Plan for the Reconstruction of Hospitals provides for
the rebuilding of the Prince of Wales' General Hospital on the site of the present St.
Ann's Hospital.
